The Word Was First Of All
1-2 The Word was first, the Word present to God, God present to the Word. The Word was God, in readiness for God from day one.
話語是一切的本源
1-2話語是本源， 話語在神面前， 神 在話語面前， 話語就是 神， 從起初就隨時與神同在。
6-8 There once was a man, his name John, sent by God to point out the way to the Life-Light. He came to show everyone where to look, who to believe in. John was not himself the Light; he was there to show the way to the Light.
6-8有一個人，名叫約翰，為神所差遣，要指示人通往生命之光的路。他來了，為要向人指明要注視的地點，和信靠的對象。約翰自己並不是那光；他來是要指出通往那光的道路。
9-13 The Life-Light was the real thing: Every person entering Life he brings into Light.
9-13生命之光真實存在； 凡進入這生命的每一個人， 祂都把光賜給他們。
He was in the world, the world was there through him, and yet the world didn’t even notice. He came to his own people, but they didn’t want him. But whoever did want him, who believed he was who he claimed and would do what he said, He made to be their true selves, their child-of-God selves. These are the God-begotten, not blood-begotten, not flesh-begotten, not sex-begotten.
祂在這個世界， 這世界是藉著祂造成的， 然而，這個世界卻絲毫沒有留意到祂。 祂來到自己百姓的中間， 但他們卻不要祂。 凡渴求祂， 並相信祂就是祂自己所宣稱的那位， 且照著祂的話去行的人， 祂就使他們得回真正的自我， 即神兒女一般的自我。 這些人是神所生的， 不是血氣所生， 不是肉體所生， 也不是性的產物。
14 The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood. We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son, Generous inside and out, true from start to finish.
